What happens to our face when we sleep with makeup on and what exactly it can cause

We have all found ourselves after a night out or a tiring day thinking of going to sleep without removing our makeup. At that moment it might seem like the hardest thing to do in the world. While we understand that neglecting it once is human, our skin will definitely not reward us for such decision, let alone when this neglect is repeated.

So to understand how important it is not to skip cleaning our face and removing our makeup – no matter how tired we feel – we gathered everything that happens to our skin when we decide to go to sleep with the makeup on we had from the morning or the whole evening.

Your “reward” will probably be… acne!

You might be thinking “it’s okay, I’ll do a good cleansing in the morning and everything will be fine”, but that’s not how things work. During sleep and since your skin still has makeup and dirt that has already been there for hours, the result will be that your pores will close and then you will have pimples that result from the clogged pores from the impurities.

Irritation and itching

Makeup, in addition to possibly containing comedogenic ingredients that themselves close the pores, traps pollutants in our skin, resulting in an increase in free radicals that cause inflammation, irritation and redness, with itching being one of the common “symptoms” that arise.

Premature Aging

When it becomes your habit to go to bed without removing your makeup, the inflammation slowly becomes chronic and in addition to the previous problems we mentioned, this particular tactic will inevitably lead you to premature aging. The collagen in your skin slowly begins to lose its strength, pigment production may increase – “hyperpigmentation” – and your skin will begin to lose its firmness, showing premature fine lines and wrinkles.

As tiring as it may seem to cleanse your skin at the end of the day, you should make it a habit – or a promise to yourself – to never go to sleep without removing every trace of makeup first. Of course, finding the products that will help make the process as quick and efficient as possible is the best thing you can do.

The Pure Cleansing Oil is a gentle cleansing oil which with its light texture melts makeup and removes impurities very easily and without having to rub or press your skin.  As soon as you use it you will understand how simply and quickly you can remove your makeup. You apply it on a dry face, gently rubbing the entire area, face, lips and eyes. Then you add a little warm water, continuing the massage until the oil turns into a light emulsion and dissolves any residue. Finally, rinse with plenty of warm water and dry your face with a soft face towel.

To make sure you’ve removed everything and left your face clean and fresh, follow up by double cleansing with a cleansing bar of soap. The Calming Cleansing Gel will cleanse and soothe your skin, leaving it soft and light, while The Toning Cleansing Gel will cleanse what’s left of your skin by toning and sealing it with its natural antiseptic action to keep away the germs and give you a healthy and glowing skin.

Take a few minutes to take care of your skin every night, no matter how tired you feel and be sure that it will reward you accordingly!
